Selling Requirements
Pursuant North Carolina law, all customers selling scrap metal must produce a valid form of picture identification, must disclose the address where the material was obtained, and must confirm in writing that they have the legal right to dispose of the material.
Gilbert Iron & Steel cooperates fully with local law enforcement and the public to detect, report and prevent metals theft. We maintain detailed records of each transaction, use advanced video technology to monitor every step of the process, and we regularly provide copies of our records to the police. Anyone attempting to sell stolen property will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
